From July 8 to 10, the 16th Distribution Technology Application Conference and Distribution Equipment Exhibition was held in Nanjing. Under the theme "Building New Distribution Systems to Support Coordinated Development of Main Grid, Distribution Network, and Microgrids," the conference focused on standard interpretation, key technology discussions, innovation showcases, solution sharing, and typical case exchanges for new distribution systems. Dongfang Electronics was invited to exhibit and deliver a keynote presentation.
I. Keynote Presentation

Dongfang Electronics delivered a presentation titled "Key Technologies and Engineering Practices of End-Supply Microgrids for New Distribution Systems." The presentation centered on grid-forming microgrid technologies and practical applications within new distribution systems, analyzing current distribution network pain points through typical projects in rural areas, industrial parks, and remote mining zones.
Against the backdrop of large-scale distributed PV integration, rural radial weak grids and industrial parks commonly face issues such as severe curtailment, voltage violations, and outage risks. Leveraging its core technologies—self-developed VSG grid-forming PCS, microgrid EMS, and main-distribution-microgrid three-level coordinated control—Dongfang Electronics has created innovative models including line + substation dual-storage synergy and multi-voltage-level microgrid clusters. These solutions enable seamless switching between grid-connected optimized consumption and off-grid black-start islanded supply.
Practical validations in projects across Guangzhou’s rural areas, Guangxi province, Yantai’s industrial parks, and Inner Mongolia’s Xuejiawan demonstrate that compared to traditional grid reinforcement, these approaches require lower investment and deliver faster results. They enhance local new energy consumption, significantly improve supply reliability, and balance economic, livelihood, and carbon-reduction goals—offering a replicable blueprint for high-penetration renewable integration into distribution networks.
II. Exhibition Highlights

During the expo, Dongfang Electronics showcased its solutions under the theme "Integrating Digital and Intelligent Diverse Solutions to Build Modern Smart Distribution Networks." The company presented its main-distribution-microgrid integrated solutions, smart distribution-microgrid systems, and intelligent distribution equipment portfolios.
The main-distribution-microgrid integrated architecture encompasses three layers of capability:
Global optimization and decision-making intelligence
Coordinated main-distribution dispatching
Autonomous microgrid operation
These layers enable progressive capability enhancement and coordinated internal-external autonomy. Additionally, the exhibition featured typical engineering cases such as adaptive intelligent FA, enhanced single-phase ground fault diagnosis, and substation energy storage power quality management, demonstrating Dongfang Electronics’ comprehensive capabilities and industry expertise in new distribution system development.
Dongfang Electronics is deeply involved in shaping distribution network standards and has achieved full-category self-developed manufacturing from master stations to switches and terminals.
